According to the Humane Society of the United States, the life span of an indoor cat averages 12-14 years, whereas an indoor-outdoor cat only lives 4-5 years.
If your favorite feline prefers the great outdoors, here are a few trendy products and ideas to make him feel at home inside your home:

Appeal to your cat’s hunting instinct by making a game of mealtime. Hide small portions of food around the house, or put morsels in a container.
If space and finances allow, consider having two cats to provide each other companionship.
If any of these facts ruffle your feathers, then a bird may not be the best pet for you. But if you would get along like a couple of lovebirds, then let the relationship soar! Integrate your bird into your day, from having breakfast to hanging out in your shower. They can be affectionate and playful and as involved in your life as you want your feathered friends to be.
